The meeting is open to all, and will discuss the institute's annual accounts for 2025, along with various other matters related to its operations. Coffee will be served after the meeting.

  • Bjarkarhlíð with a reception in Ísafjörður

  • First baby of the year 2026 – Maternity ward statistics 2025

    The first baby of 2026 at the Westfjords Health Institute is a girl who was born on January 19. The parents are Tanja Björk Ómarsdóttir and Jakob Fannar Magnússon, who live in Ísafjörður and are in good health with mother and child.   • Donation to the Westfjords Health Institute in Patreksfjörður

    Last fall, the Westfjords Health Foundation in Patreksfjörður received a nice gift from companies and individuals in the area. The Patreksfjörður Lions Club, Vestri BA, Jón Árnason and siblings, Oddi hf and Logi ehf donated 7 Lazyboy armchairs to the foundation. Páll Vilhjálmsson, then chairman of the Patreksfjörður Lions Club, supervised the collection. The gift has come in quite handy and we thank these parties very much for their contribution.

  • Grant for equipment purchases

    Minister of Health Alma Möller has allocated 77 million ISK for equipment purchases at health institutions in rural areas, and of that amount, the Westfjords Health Institute will receive a grant of 26 million ISK for equipment purchases.
