Representatives of the Vestfjörður Health Foundation (HVest) and Ísafjarðarbær today signed a letter of intent regarding the operation of a nursing home in Ísafjörður, which will, all things being equal, be built in Torfnes in the near future. The home will be owned by the town, which will operate it according to lease agreement with the Ministry of Welfare but handed over to HVest for operation. The health institution is suggested to conduct operations as best suits, for example, in terms of staff sharing, priorities in operations and other integration between hospital and nursing home. The aim is to complete an agreement on these issues as soon as possible and that it will last for 25 years.

The management and employees of HVest are fully aware of the importance of a nursing home in the area and welcome the signing of this letter of intent, as they are now ready for construction to begin on the building.
