At a meeting with employees on March 23, the organization's new organization chart was introduced, but it will come into effect on April 1 next.
The main change in the organization's new organization chart from what it was before is that from now on the organization will be seen as a single entity that operates in different departments and in several locations instead of being seen as many organizations with a common management.
Changes to the senior management will mean that one medical director will be hired for the institution and it is expected that he will mainly perform other duties.
Two positions of director of nursing (medical and health care departments) will be abolished and one will be hired in their place. It is expected that the new director of nursing will also perform other duties within the organization.
Rannveig Björnsdóttir, head of the Department of Geriatrics, is appointed director of nursing in April.
