The Vestfjörður Health Institute's screening for Covid-19 infection, in collaboration with Icelandic genetic analysis, has taken place on Patreksfjörður on Thursday and Friday. The screening took place in the community center and the participants were directed around the building in accordance with quarantine rules. Participation has been very good, more than 400 samples have been taken during these two days and fewer people came than wanted.
The sampling is carried out by Hvest á Patreksfjörður staff, nurses and paramedics/student paramedics. Samples are taken from both the nasopharynx and laryngopharynx.
