The Ísafjarðarbær Institute as well as the Southeastern Institute of Health and the Eastern Institute of Health have entered into an agreement with Landsspítala-University Hospital for the supervision of pediatrics at the aforementioned institutions.
The service will be organized in collaboration with the chief doctors of the institutions, but pediatricians will come every three months to the respective institutions. Each visit is two days long.
Included in this contract is the general services of a pediatrician, newborn monitoring, infant care, advice regarding the health care of children and adolescents, and access to LSH's specialist doctors between trips. The doctors can also train the staff of the institutions according to a further agreement.
The pediatrician holds consultation meetings upon his arrival and can also hold lectures or educational meetings if requested.
There is great satisfaction within the organization with the signing of the contract that guarantees this necessary service for the residents of Ísafjörður and neighboring settlements.
