In accordance with the government's policy on digital Iceland 2020, all accounts from the treasury and state institutions have become electronic. As of the end of May, the Vestfjörður Health Institute will only issue digital invoices. The invoices appear on island.is and both individuals and legal entities can access all invoices issued by the Treasury and its institutions.

The organization now also sends certificates electronically and they are entered at helilovvera.is. It is about "Certificate to Employers" and "General Certificates". A person can then call in and ask for a certificate to be sent in healthcare.is and appears under My pages. To access my pages on helilovvera.is, you must have an electronic ID. The bill for the certificate goes to island.is and the payment slip goes to the person's home bank.

Those who do not already have electronic IDs can go to the nearest bank and get them. You can find more information about electronic IDs here.

With the increased availability of digital services, the goal is to reduce business costs for all parties, modernize the government's business environment and enforce environmental considerations. It is estimated that about 200 m.kr. save per year by using electronic invoices, including by reducing printing costs and postage.
