The following rules apply from June 21:

Mandatory masks in all health centers

Mandatory masks (operating room masks, the blue ones with the white bands) are for non-inpatient clients and staff in close contact with the clients. This applies to health care, accident and related departments.

Sampling will take place twice a week at Ísafjörður

Sampling will now take place twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 13:00. Registration at Heilsuveru.

Hospital in Ísafjörður

Visits to patients in the medical department are limited to one visitor at a time (along with an escort if necessary) within the defined visiting hours. Exemptions continue to be granted in special circumstances. Visitors should wear surgical masks.

Rapid tests will be taken by all clients who enter. Individuals with flu-like symptoms start in isolation and then PCR will be taken. Staff wear masks in close contact with clients.

Nursing home

No changes will be made at the time in nursing homes. We recommend that guests wear masks. People with flu-like symptoms do not visit.

Vaccination is the best protection: Vaccination is available

Vaccination status among residents in the Westfjords is excellent. Of the relevant groups, a fairly high percentage of the population has had their fourth vaccination. It's better if it's enough. Attention is drawn to vaccination days in June, see more about it in this news.

The rules are subject to change, possibly at short notice.
