The MND Society in Iceland presented the Emergency Department of the Health Institute with a specially designed mattress, which has been used extremely well by MND patients and other seriously ill individuals. The AirO mattress is designed to prevent bedsores and be comfortable for those who need to lie down a lot and for a long time. It was designed by MND patient Inga Nordin, who couldn't find a mattress that suited her during her illness. The mattress is very expensive, so the thoughtfulness and generosity of the MND company is exceptional.
The mattress is given with gratitude for the way the National Health Institute and its respective departments have managed to build up their services and care for MND patients.
It was father and son Aron Guðmundsson and Guðmundur Salómon Ásgeirsson, who brought us the mattress on behalf of the MND company, i.e. On July 8th, the National Health Institute and its employees would like to express their sincere thanks to them and the company.
