We are looking for a driven person to perform the position of senior healthcare physician at the Vestfjörður Health Institute. This is a 100% permanent job in an exciting field that is both responsible and challenging. 

The Chief Medical Officer manages the day-to-day operations of the health care facility in Ísafjörður, where the main office is located, and is professionally responsible for the health care services of the entire institution. The next in command is the medical director. 

The Vestfjörður Health Institute employs around 270 people who provide general healthcare services in the health care, nursing and medical fields. There are health centers in Ísafjörður and Patreksfjörður and health centers in all the regional centers of the health district. Ba good adaptation at the beginning of the job and assistance in obtaining housing is expected.

 

Project

  • Supervising the daily activities of health care in Ísafjörður
  • Professional responsibility for the health care services of the entire organization
  • Human custody with doctors at health care in Ísafjörður, including contractors
  • Supervision of the studies of medical students, candidates and specialist doctors
  • General duties of a family doctor together with work in other departments of the institution by agreement
  • Planning, improvement and development of operations

Qualification requirements

  • Icelandic medical license and specialist license in family medicine
  • Excellent communication skills and good leadership skills

  • Experience and enthusiasm for collaboration with other professions and participation in teamwork

Salary

Salary according to the current collective agreement concluded by the Minister of Finance and the Economy and the Medical Association of Iceland.
