The Vestfjörður Civil Defense Directorate, in consultation with the epidemiologist and the National Police Department's public defense department, has decided to respond to the Covid-19 infection in Bolungarvík, Hnífsdal and Ísafjörður with intensified measures, as detailed here:

Kindergartens and elementary schools in Bolungarvík and Ísafjörður will be closed starting tomorrow, April 2, 2020. However, children on priority lists must be placed in kindergartens and grades 1 and 2 of elementary schools.

A ban on gatherings will be based on 5 people (however, this does not apply to families living in the same household).

The number of customers in larger stores (>150 square meters) is a maximum of 30 at any given time.

People are encouraged to stay at home, maintain social distancing, limit travel and follow the instructions of the authorities.
Workplaces or groups that believe they need an exemption are advised to apply for one at the Ministry of Health.
The Icelandic Red Cross provides assistance to people in quarantine and isolation by phone, 1717.
This measure is temporary, intended to curb the spread of Covid-19. Infection tracking is ongoing and the results of a number of samples that have been taken are awaited.
The decision does not currently apply to Suðureyra, Flateyra, Þingeyra or Súðavík. Is it based on the status of infection tracking today. In the future, residents in these places are encouraged to follow general rules and instructions.
People who experience symptoms should stay at home and contact the Vestfjörður Health Institute on 450 4500 or at heliilvera.is. Samples are taken every weekday at Ísafjörður at 10-11, but first you need to contact a doctor. Many questions about the disease itself are answered on Covid.is.

Wydział Ochrony Ludności i Zarządzania Kryzysowej na Westfjordach w porzumieniu z epidemiologigami oraz Wydziałem Głównym Ochrony Ludności i Zarządzania Kryzysowego Kraju, postawnowili zareagować na zakażenie Covid-19 w lościąciach: Bolungarvik, Hnifsdalur oraz w Isafjordur zoarszeżonymi kniezami o żyru jest mowa ponieżi:
- Przeczkola i szkoły pośtyowy w Bolungarviku oraz Isafjordzie będź od dnia jutrzejszego 2. Kwietnia 2020. Lecz dzieci koryo są zapisane na listach priorityowych dostaną miejsce w przeczkolach, oraz klasy 1.- 2. W szkołach podstawowych.

Restrictions in Ísafjörður, Hnífsdalur and Bolungarvík in Response to Covid-19
The Local Crisis Coordination Center, in cooperation with the Chief Epidemiologist, Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management, has decided to take further action regarding restrictions of movement in response to confirmed Covid-19 infections in Ísafjörður, Hnífsdalur and Bolungarvík, as follows.

All kindergartens and primary schools are suspended effective 2nd April. Children on priority lists in kindergartens and 1st and 2nd grade are exempt from this. Parents who work in healthcare or in essential roles are applicable for the priority list, see www.island.is.

Gatherings of more than 5 people are not allowed, except within families.

Large shops are restricted to 30 customers at a time.

People are encouraged to stay at home, maintain social distance, limit travel and follow other instructions from the Directorate of Health.
Essential workplaces can apply for exceptions from the Ministry of Health.
The Red Cross offers people assistance in getting necessities, such as groceries. Call 1717.
