Now the health authorities have adopted new technology that makes it easier for individuals to access basic information in the health system. This system is called Heilsuvera and you can log in to it on the web www.heilsuvera.is. Please note that in order to be able to log in to Heilsuveru, you need an electronic ID, which can be obtained, for example, from each individual's bank.
In Heilsuvera, people see the main information about them in the country's health care systems. It can also put in a request for medication renewals, and then you don't have to call the relevant institution for that. If a doctor receives a message to the effect that a medicine needs to be renewed, he completes the request, provided that there is nothing wrong with such a request.
In some places in the system, it is possible to make an appointment with a doctor electronically, but unfortunately we cannot offer it here in the west due to the irregular working hours of doctors. Sometimes they have to be in the living room, sometimes on duty and sometimes in the ward. There is no rule on this due to human resources, and therefore it is not possible to schedule special appointments in electronic booking. Hopefully we can introduce this service as soon as possible, but until then, drug replacement will have to do.
