Gylfi Ólafsson has been appointed CEO of HVEST. He takes over the job from Kristina B. Albertsdóttir.

Gylfi is a health economist. He completed his B.Ed. degree as a primary school teacher from the University of Akureyri, M.Sc. in economics from Stockholm University and has been studying for a doctorate in health economics at Karolinska in Stockholm since 2013.

In parallel with his doctoral studies, Gylfi has worked as a freelance consultant in health economics, taught part-time at the University of Iceland, as well as founded and ran the innovative company Víur in Bolungarvík in the years 2013 – 2016. Gylfi was an assistant to Benedikts Jóhannesson, Minister of Finance and Economy in 2017.

Gylfi grew up on Ísafjörður from childhood. He is married to Tinna Ólafsdóttir and they have 2 children. HVEST staff welcomes Gylfa and family back to their home pastures. We wish Gylfa the best of luck with his job and look forward to working with him in the future.
