The rehabilitation department of the Ísafjarðarbær Health Institute has received equipment as a gift from various sources.

The FSÍ memorial fund for chief physician Úlf Gunnarsson donated a short-wave device that is a powerful device for treating, among other things, rheumatism and musculoskeletal problems. The device is very complete and convenient to use and has built-in treatments for diagnoses within physical therapy.

Exercise bike and chair from the Oddfellowstukun Gesti á Ísafjörður. On the bike you can exercise both hands and feet. A built-in computer is in the bike and measures how much is taken with each foot, distance, time and more. Also, the bike takes over and rides if a person does not have the strength to ride themselves.

Traction device, a gift from the Vestfjörður Trade Union.

This is a device that has digital settings and replaces an old traction device that has been in use since the department opened. The new device is in every way much more comfortable to use for both the patient and the physiotherapist and offers more treatment options than the old device.

It should be noted that this year marks 20 years since the Rehabilitation Department opened on the bottom floor of the Hospital, but it was previously located on the attic floor of the old hospital.
