The Animal Fjord Division of the Icelandic Red Cross presented the health institution with resuscitation equipment yesterday. The device is a semi-automatic Lifepak defibrillator. The device will be installed in the lobby of the health center. The nursing home is staffed 24 hours a day, so the device is always accessible.

Sigmundur Fríðar Þórðarson handed over the device to Erla Björga Ástvaldsdóttir, head of department, and Gylfa Ólafsson, CEO.

Also, according to information from Sigmund, there are six resuscitators in the town, three of which were donated by the Dýrafjörður Department of the Red Cross:

  1. Hafnarnes (boat)
  2. Ambulance
  3. The swimming pool at Þingeyri
  4. Kristján's engine and car service
  5. Animal rescue team
  6. The health center and nursing home Tjörn
Sigmundur said a few words to the residents in the dining room, but the dining room is shared by the residents of the Tjarnar nursing home and the Ísafjarðarbær service apartments, which are in separate wings of the building.
