Influenza vaccination starts on October 10th and ends on November 30th. At the same time, the thread will be picked up again with vaccination for covid-19 for everyone who has not already received the fourth dose. The epidemiologist has now authorized the covid-19 and influenza vaccines to be given together or to allow two weeks to pass in between.

When

Influenza vaccinations start on October 10 for priority groups and October 17 for everyone.

Vaccination for influenza will be at the health center in Ísafjörður:

Monday, October 10 at 10:00-11:30 and 13:00-15:00
Wednesday, October 12 at 10:00-11:30 and 13:00-15:00
Every weekday from October 17 to November 4 at 11:00–12:00

Vaccination for influenza and covid-19 at the same time, the following days will be held at the health center in Ísafjörður:

Tuesday, October 11 at 10:00-11:30 and 13:00-15:00
Thursday, October 13 at 10:00-11:30 and 13:00-15:00
Thursday, October 27 at 10:00–11:30 and 13:00–15:00

It is necessary to make an appointment for vaccination by calling 450 4500 at 13:00-14:00 from September 26.

Priority groups

The following priority groups apply for the fourth dose of covid vaccination:

  • All persons aged 60 and over.
  • Children from the age of 12 and adults suffering from chronic heart, lung, kidney or liver diseases, diabetes, malignant diseases and other immunosuppressive diseases.
  • Healthcare workers, including nursing home workers.      

Other

Vaccination against covid-19 will continue to be free of charge for citizens, but the traditional arrival fee will be charged for vaccination against influenza.

Vaccinations for residents in Vesturbyggð and Tálknafjörður are advertised separately. Vaccinations for public and business will be announced later.
