Vaccination for influenza in priority groups has started in the southern part of Vestfjörður. Vaccinations are given every day at 11:00, but you have to book an appointment in advance by phone 450 2000.
The epidemiologist has now authorized the covid-19 and influenza vaccines to be given together or to allow two weeks to pass in between. When you call to book a flu vaccination, you can get instructions on covid-19 vaccination if needed. The vaccination rate has become so high that it is best to decide the arrangement with a closer agreement with each one.
Priority groups
In this round, the focus is on priority groups defined by the epidemiologist as follows:
- All persons aged 60 and over.
- All children and adults suffering from chronic heart, lung, kidney or liver diseases, diabetes, malignant diseases and other immunosuppressive diseases.
- Healthcare professionals who care for patients in the risk groups above.
- Pregnant women.
Other
Vaccination against covid-19 will continue to be free of charge for citizens, but the traditional arrival fee will be charged for vaccination against influenza.
