In the last three months, there has been a lot of pressure on the Vestfjörður Health Center due to the COVID19 virus. Many employees have worked much more than their duties and under conditions that call for new procedures and habits. Antiseptic has been the common thread in all jobs. During this time, it has been invaluable for the staff to feel warm and receive good greetings from the local community. This week, this beautiful bouquet came with thanks to the staff for being on duty.

However, it is worth reminding that the battle is not over and Hvest's staff wants to encourage residents to continue practicing aseptic hygiene:.

  • Take good care of hygiene, wash your hands regularly with soap and use hand sanitizer. Avoid contact with eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Cough and sneeze into a crooked elbow or into a tissue.
  • Avoid close contact with persons with cough and general cold symptoms
  • Be careful when handling common touch surfaces in busy places such as handrails, touch screens, payment bags and doorknobs.
  • Greet with a smile rather than a handshake or a hug.
