Varied and interesting summer jobs for students are available at the Vestfjörður Health Center. The jobs are part of the organization's employment initiative in collaboration with the Norwegian Labor and Employment Agency, and there are 9 jobs available. There are two jobs in the southern area at the hospital in Patreksfjörður and seven jobs in the northern area at the hospital and health care in Ísafjörður and the nursing homes in Þingeyri, Ísafjörður and Bolungarvík.

In the southern area there are two jobs:

Development of work processes in a workplace without biomedical scientists. One job. 

The hospital and health care center in Patreksfjörður does not have a working biochemist, and due to the small size of the institution, it does not support itself. Previously, however, a biochemist worked there. Nurses, paramedics and contractor doctors work there, and there are some measuring and diagnostic equipment. It is necessary to go through the devices and the equipment that is on site, dispose of what is no longer relevant, make instructions for the devices that are present and write work procedures

Efforts in the storage of written documents and medical records. One job. 

At the hospital in Patreksfjörður, the preservation of various data, including older medical records, is unreadable. You have to go through local archives; classify and map. It is also necessary to prepare gauze, which must be carried out according to special processes. An employee would have to be independent. Working hours are flexible.

In the northern region there are 7 jobs:

Human resources effort: One job. 

In the field of human resources, there are many projects waiting for willing hands. In particular, there are issues related to the reception of new recruits and retirements and projects related to educational issues. The shortening of the working week is ahead, and in order for it to go well, the preparation must be good.

Implementation of Power BI and creation of processes for collecting and analyzing numerical data. One job. 

Among the priorities at the Vestfjörður Health Institute is to use data for good; that new information about the organization is accessible and used to make better decisions and improve the service. This data comes from various sources, eg financial systems, operational systems and personnel systems. A lot of work is involved in finding the data, understanding what it means, creating processes that combine data in one place and publish it in such a way that there is no risk of sensitive data going further than it is intended. The work has started, but there is still a lot of work to be done. Work is done in collaboration with the CEO, CFO and health data scientists. Working hours are flexible.

Movement and entertainment director in nursing homes. Two jobs. 

The job is new, the exercise and entertainment manager initiates exercise and entertainment for the residents of Hvest's nursing homes, depending on the resident's ability. Based on an individual-oriented movement and approach, the main goal of this work is to increase the residents' hours of happiness and togetherness. Examples of exercise and time together can be, for example, walks, bike rides, field hunting and putting down summer flowers. Examples of get-togethers: Preparing a summer festival, possibly getting residents to read stories, act in a play, sing and play. Examples of fun visits: Get dogs, cats, rabbits, horses and locals to visit the nursing homes. Movement and entertainment managers have the possibility to work together.

 

Archives and cases, Covid data and historical sources. 3 jobs. 

An initiative is needed in matters related to the organization's documents and data. a) Document storage and case records are not in the best possible way. Mapping and classification of documents and data in the institution's custody must continue. The implementation of a new document system must be prepared. b) April was dominated by COVID and in many ways remarkable events that took place. The data needs to be collected and a timeline of events to be worked on when the response is set up. c) Classification, registration and scanning of historical data from the activities of the organization and its predecessors. It is expected that up to three full-time employees will share their work and cooperate with each other depending on their experience, knowledge and circumstances.
