Screening for the Covid-19 virus among residents in the northern part of Vestfjörður has begun. The screening, which is a joint project of Icelandic Genetic Analysis and the Vestfjörður Health Institute, lasts three days and ends on Friday, April 17.

The samples are taken at the Björgunarsveitarhusið in Bolungarvík and on Ísafjörður in Kampaskemma, the Crossfit station, Frumherji inspection station and at the basement of the hospital in Ísafjörður.

There is a good turnout here in the area and most sessions are booked quickly. There are still a few times available, registration takes place at bokun.rannokn.is. Please note that screening is for asymptomatic individuals and is free. Individuals in quarantine or isolation must stay at home.

The project is carried out by Hvest staff together with volunteers. Attached are pictures taken by Haukur Sigurðsson at screening points on Ísafjörður on Wednesday morning.
