In Patreksfjörður, there are available facilities for self-employed physical therapists. There is enough work for an independent physiotherapist and many opportunities for general physiotherapy, group training and home treatments.
The physical therapy facility is on the 1st floor of the Vestfjörður Health Institute hospital. There is a 90 square meter gym with good heating equipment, a good exercise bench and strength training equipment. Three treatment rooms and all the main equipment, including shock wave equipment, short wave equipment, mixed current equipment, laser and traction bench. Very favorable facility fees, access to hospital infrastructure, excellent canteen and good morale. For now, there is a part-time physiotherapist at Patreksfjörður.
