Gestur Ívar Elíasson has been appointed HVEST's chief culinary officer as of August 1. He takes over from Birgi Jónsson, who has managed the kitchens of HVEST with great fame and flair for 21 years. Gestur Ívar has been Birgis' right-hand man and deputy for 16 years. He is a meat craftsman and food technician by training, with long and extensive experience in professional food handling, cooking and serving food.
As soon as Gestur is welcomed to a new job, Birgi is thanked for an extremely fun and informative collaboration for 2 decades. He will be sorely missed when he retires at the end of the summer.
Although Gestur won't be able to conjure up good food in as melodious and playful a way as Birgir, he leaves nothing behind in cooking with his calm and lovable demeanor.
