Anna Árdís Helgadóttir has been appointed nursing director of the institution in the southern part of Vestfjörður.

Anna Árdís was born and raised in Reyðarfjörður. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing in the spring of 2001. From graduation until 2008, she worked as a nurse at the Kumbaravog Nursing Home in Stokkseyri, but was then appointed its director of nursing until the spring of 2011. She then took over the position of director of nursing at the Lund Nursing Home in Hella until the fall of 2013 when she moved west to Tálknafjörður with her husband. On the first of November 2013, she was hired as a nurse at the Health Institute in Patreksfjörður. Anna is married to Indriða Indriðasyni, the mayor of Tálknafjörður. They have four children and three grandchildren.
