Hjartaheill and SÍBS in collaboration with local authorities and the Vestfjörður Health Institute will offer free health checks to the people of Vestfjörður on May 24-26 instead of the ones that were postponed on May 10-11. The measurements cover the main risk factors of lifestyle diseases, where blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipids, oxygen saturation and strength are measured, as well as breath monitoring will be offered for those whose oxygen saturation is low. Furthermore, participants have the opportunity to answer a public health survey. Education on lifestyle-related diseases will be available, nurses from the health care will be on site to provide advice and follow-up.

Bolungarvík, Höfðastíg 15, Wednesday 24 May, at 14 – 17

Suðureyri, Aðalgatu 2, Wednesday 24 May, at 19 – 21

Ísafjörður, Torfnesi, Thursday 25 May, at 11 – 15

Súðavík, Grundarstræti 1, Thursday 25 May, at 17 – 19

Þingeyri, Vallargatu 7, Friday 26 May, at 10 – 12

Flateyri, Eyrarvegi 8, Friday 26 May, at 14 – 16

Participants have the opportunity to receive their results sent by e-mail together with the overall results. Oddwits, town and village leaders will open the measurements in their home areas.
