Today, March 23, 2004, the new website of the Ísafjörður Health Institute opened. The old website did not meet the modern requirements for the information flow of organizations of this type, and therefore the creation of a new website was undertaken.
The new website contains all the main information about the organization's activities as well as practical information for patients and relatives. The activities are presented briefly and in many places there are references to further reading elsewhere on the world wide web. The site also has a large collection of links related to the health sector with over two hundred links. It is also possible to send questions to the hospital's professionals in electronic form.

The website has been partially translated into Polish and English, but the main information can also be found in Thai. The aim is to update the website in all languages so that foreign residents of the region have access to the widest possible range of information, just like the natives. Þórarinn Leifsson designed the basic layout of the website, Birgir Þór Halldórsson in Snerpa took care of its programming, while Daði Ingólfsson, a computer scientist, was temporarily hired at the Norwegian Health Institute to take care of project and editorial management as well as other incidental work regarding the website.
