The agency has decided to abandon plans to collect a fee for washing the personal clothing of geriatric care residents for an unspecified period of time.
Throughout the years, most of the laundry of the residents of the geriatrics department has been washed in the institution's laundry room with other laundry where the laundry room was in operation.
This summer, the institution's laundry was closed after an assessment of its operation revealed that it was cost-effective. The government's procurement policy states, among other things, "A normal requirement for government institutions is to examine in a regular and orderly manner whether projects are solved in a more cost-effective way within an organization than by buying the service on the public market.?
Regarding the private laundry of residents, regulation no. 422/1992 that nursing homes are not obliged to pay for personal items or additional services listed. In light of this, the organization believes that it is not obliged to cover the costs of the aforementioned washing.
However, it has been decided that the organization will continue to pay for the washing of the personal clothes of residents of the FSI's geriatrics department for an unspecified period of time, even though it is not obliged to do so.
