On the weekend of April 6th and 7th, a 12-hour First Aid course will be offered at the hospital's entrance hall in Patreksfjörður.
The aim of the course is to increase the participants' knowledge and skills in safely applying simple methods in first aid. To increase skills in assessing the symptoms of common diseases and injuries.
- The course is intended for anyone aged 14 or older who wants to learn first aid and CPR and gain the safety, skills and knowledge to provide assistance to bystanders in an emergency by applying simple first aid techniques safely.
- The course is 12 hours, 6 hours each day from 11 am to 5 pm. It is evaluated for credits in most secondary schools, for increased driving privileges, paramedic professional privileges, etc.
- Please note that participation is a prerequisite for the course.
- The participation fee is 20 thousand. ISK with a minimum of 15 participants for the course to be held. Maximum 30.
- The participation fee is not refunded if the course is shorter than three days and a medical certificate is not available. After the course has started, the participation fee is not refunded.
- ATTENTION!! You can get water, tea and coffee as well as light food, but people are encouraged to bring snacks.
Acknowledgment
- After completing the course, participants receive recognition from the Icelandic Red Cross and the Ministry of Welfare. Continuing education is recommended every other year.
