We are looking for a motivated individual to work as an anesthesiologist at the Westfjords Health Institute. This is a 100% permanent position in an exciting field that is both responsible and challenging.
The Westfjords Health Institute employs around 300 people who provide general health services in the health care, nursing and medical fields. There are health centers in Ísafjörður and Patreksfjörður and health centers in all the residential areas of the health district. Project
The job includes traditional work with anesthesia, anesthesia during childbirth, serving patients in the emergency room as needed, and other incidental tasks.
General duties of a physician in an inpatient unit and healthcare setting as needed.
Participation in teaching and training of students, specialist doctors and other professionals, as well as quality and improvement work
Possibility of certain quality and research projects in collaboration with the chief physician
It is desirable that the applicant is willing to participate in medical services during air ambulance flights.

Qualification requirements
Fully qualified in anesthesiology in Iceland
It is desirable that the applicant has completed courses in specialized adult (ALS) and pediatric (EPLS/NLS) resuscitation.
It would be an advantage to have completed a course in the treatment of multi-trauma patients such as the European Trauma Course (ETC) or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
Icelandic and/or English language skills equivalent to level C1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) are required.

Communication skills and agility in interpersonal relationships
