We are looking for a forward-thinking, positive and driven leader to lead the human resources department of the Westfjords Health Institute. We are looking for an individual with a strong interest and experience in human resources. The Human Resources Manager reports to the CEO and is part of the executive board. The institution emphasizes professional working methods, operational improvements and employee satisfaction.

The Vestfjörður Institute of Health employs around 250 people who provide general healthcare services in the health care, nursing and medical fields. There are health centers in Ísafjörður and Patreksfjörður and health centers in all the rural areas of the health district. Project

  • Responsibility for shaping and leading professional human resource management
  • Ensure professional procedures for decision-making and implementation in human resources matters
  • Active participation in strategy development, goal setting, and performance measurement for the organization
  • Advice and support to managers and other staff when it comes to human resources matters
  • Overseeing the preparation of institutional agreements, salary decisions and supporting salary representatives in salary setting
  • Overseeing equal pay certification and equal pay analyses
  • Human resources with receptionists, health data scientists and kitchen staff
  • Initiative and active participation in various committees and teams, such as those related to safety, quality, equality and institutional agreements
  • Overseeing performance measurements and surveys, including employee well-being surveys

Qualification requirements

  • University education that is useful in the job; further education preferred
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of human resources is a requirement
  • Management experience is desirable
  • Experience and knowledge of public administration is desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience of collective bargaining and institutional agreements desirable
  • Interest and experience in improvement work and change management
  • Good leadership and communication skills
  • Reliability, initiative and ambition to succeed at work
  • Good language skills and ability to present issues in speech and writing

Salary

Salary according to the current collective agreement concluded by the Minister of Finance and the Economy and the relevant trade union.
