The Íszúkraliðafélag has named Hildi Elísabeta Pétursdóttir exemplary manager of the year 2018. Hildur is the head of the nursing homes Eyrar á Ísafjörður and Bergs in Bolungarvík and has been with both homes since the opening.

 

This is the fifth time that the Hospital Association has presented the designation, which aims to support and highlight what is done well in human resource management. The awards were handed out in Eyr's auditorium on Tuesday, December 4.

 

During the presentation of the award, Sandra B. Franks, chairperson of the Icelandic Medical Association, said that there is a comment about Hildi pointed out, among other things, her excellent qualities in human relations and how well she uses the professional competence and skills of paramedics in her work.

 

CEO Gylfi Ólafsson said on this occasion that Hildur was well-deserved for the award, she was a strong manager who had the ability to create a strong team among the staff.

 

Hildur said upon receiving the award that the staff are all important. Such organizations can be seen as a chain, where each link is important. Eyri and Berg have always been lucky with staff and that has made her job easy.

 

Hildur Elísabet has worked at the Vestfjörður Health Institute or its predecessors with small breaks since 1997 when she graduated as a nurse from the University of Iceland. She completed a diploma in cardiopulmonary nursing in 2006 and a master's degree in nursing management in 2011.
