The Ministry of Health has presented a new health policy for the Icelandic people until the year 2030. The policy will be presented at open meetings in all health districts in the country in the near future. Tuesday, June 18 at 17 the meeting will be held in the meeting room of the nursing home Eyri on Ísafjörður.

It will be discussed what the policy entails, what changes it is likely to bring about and why it is so important, whether in urban areas or in more sparsely populated areas of the country.

There has been a long wait for a comprehensive strategy for Icelandic health care since the strategy approved by Alþingi in 2001 expired in 2010.
