The rehabilitation department of HVEST was given the LiteGait® training device this autumn. The donor is Kvenfélagið Hlíf, but the association was dissolved this year.
LiteGait® is a training device that can be used in all possible rehabilitation situations, such as walking indoors, on a treadmill, in standing and sitting balance training to name a few. The user of the device is completely safe in different positions as the person is attached with a hip belt and shoulder support belts. LiteGait® can be adapted to each user as there are many options. In LiteGait®, the user is completely safe, there is no risk of falling and the therapist's physical workload is significantly reduced. One of the advantages of LiteGait® is the ability to adjust how much weight the user takes on the device. If the user has difficulty walking when full weight is taken on their feet, it is easy to adjust how much weight the person can take to be able to walk. Another feature of the device is that the user can not only practice walking forward, but also backward and sideways walking.

LiteGait®'s agent in Iceland is Fastus and on September 26 last. their representative came to Ísafjörður together with the agent of the device in Europe and the employees of the Rehabilitation Department were taught how to use the device and several users were allowed to test it.

HVEST thanks Kvenfélagin Hlíf for this generous gift, which will be used for all kinds of rehabilitation at the institution. Here you can see some pictures that were taken when the presentation and teaching of the device took place.
