The district epidemiologist in the Vestfjörður health district has placed one person in home isolation and three in home quarantine in Patreksfjörður due to suspected COVID-19. All of them were traveling abroad together in a group. Samples have been sent to the National Hospital for analysis. These are the first samples that have been taken in Patreksfjörður and its surroundings. There is still one in quarantine on Ísafjörður.
We continue to urge people to call 1700 if they suspect they have been infected with COVID-19 instead of coming to a clinic. Epidemiologist has published a lot of good reading material about the virus, sensible responses and more. It also explains the difference between quarantine and isolation.
