In the event of the announced strike actions of the Medical Association of Iceland, they will affect Hvest's services. All HVest clients' appointments with doctors in health care will be canceled in the event of a strike. We therefore encourage you to make a new appointment after the strike. Medical security personnel will be present and will attend to emergencies during the strike.

The announced strike action will begin on November 25th, if an agreement is not reached before that time. A strike has been announced from midnight until 12 noon on the days of the strike.

Services that do not require the intervention of doctors, for example infant care, maternity care and more, will remain unchanged.

We hope, of course, that the wage dispute will be resolved and that the strike will not occur.

A strike has been announced from midnight to noon on the following dates:

  • November 25 (Monday) to November 28 (Thursday).
  • December 3 (Tuesday) to December 5 (Thursday).
  • December 9 (Monday) to December 12 (Thursday).
  • December 16 (Monday) to December 18 (Wednesday).

There will be a pause in strike action from 20 December to 5 January 2025. The action will then continue on Monday 6 January 2025 in the same manner, in four-week cycles as above, right through to the week of silence.

You can read more about the strike call on the website of the Icelandic Medical Association.
