The Vestfjörður Health Institute was put on the wrong end in March and was in a very unconventional way throughout the month of April. On May 11, the special measures that have been in force in the northern part of the Westfjords expire. Gradually, in careful steps, the activity reaches a similar rhythm as it has been. Health care services are starting to take on a more normal feel, and Vidar tannlæðir starts again here in Ísafjörður.
Some of the steps will be small and cautious, especially when it comes to nursing homes and inpatient wards. This is done in order to reduce as much as possible the chance of an infection getting in there.
Here on a separate page there is more information, but the key points are three:
- 1. If you have the slightest cold, cough, fever, flu-like symptoms or bone pain, do not come, but contact 450 4500. You will then receive more information on how to behave and where to come, if it is absolutely necessary.
- 2. No one is allowed to enter health care, for blood tests or other things without having a booked appointment. Appointments can be booked by phone and at the Health Center.
- 3. The ban on visitors will be lifted in small steps from May 4 in Patreksfjörður and May 18 in Eyri, Berg and Tjörn. Relatives and residents have received information from employees who also answer questions that arise.
