The Vestfjörður Health Center has not yet imposed a curfew. However, that decision is reviewed daily based on the level of infection in the organization's district.
Those who visit relatives in nursing homes and inpatient units are asked to keep the following in mind:
- Hand washing is the most important way to avoid infection, and it is also important to use hand sanitizer. Always keep this in mind when visiting.
- Avoid all physical contact such as handshakes, hugs and kisses with residents as much as possible.
- Avoid touching surfaces in public spaces such as railings and doorknobs.
Residents of nursing homes are mostly elderly and/or have various underlying diseases. They are therefore in a special risk group related to becoming seriously ill from the Corona virus.
Those who have cold symptoms, flu-like symptoms or have recently traveled to defined risk areas according to information on the website of the national doctor are asked to be careful and not to visit the institution.
We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the instructions on the website of the National Health Service because the state of affairs and instructions related to them can change from day to day.
