The group Standum saman Vestfjörður, collected this winter for new equipment for the Vestfjörður Health Center. Among the things bought with the fundraising money were four oxygen filters. One filter is for the Hospital in Patreksfjörður and has been put into use there. Oxygen filters are used if long-term oxygen therapy is needed. It is an electric machine that compresses oxygen from the atmosphere. The purpose of treatment is to prevent complications of hypoxia and prolong life.
