The Westfjords Health Institute is looking for an ambitious, positive and forward-thinking leader for the position of Head of Construction and Operations in Patreksfjörður. The position reports to the Director of Finance and Operations, sits on the operations board and participates in the formal work of the Head of Department at the Westfjords Health Institute.
The Westfjords Health Institute is an ambitious workplace with around 270 people working at four main locations. Of these, over 40 employees work in Patreksfjörður in healthcare, construction and operations, inpatient care and rehabilitation. Project
- Performs and distributes projects that fall under the Construction and Operations Department
- Leads planning and strategy development for the Construction and Operations Department in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
- Manages the HVest operations committee in Patreksfjörður, which is the formal management forum for the region/departments, and chairs its meetings.
- Responsible for compliance with laws, regulations, collective bargaining agreements and other agreements that apply to the operations of HVest.
- Participates in coordinating work methods and services between locations and promotes sharing and efficiency in operations, including through the utilization of human resources and in procurement.
- Procurement and communication with suppliers and carriers
- Is one of the key employees during a civil defense situation. Ensures that employee information is updated in the civil defense plan and is responsible for its presentation to departments.
- Communication with the Development Authority-Ríkiseignir and various projects related to real estate in the area.
- Management of rental apartments and vehicles on the roads of HVest in Patreksfjörður.
- Serves on the board of directors of HVest.
- Supervision of property maintenance projects and grounds maintenance such as snow removal, mowing, etc.
- Can participate in the work of other employees of the department
Qualification requirements
- Experience that is useful in work
- Vocational training an advantage
- Experience in human resources or management preferred
- Good Icelandic skills are an advantage
- Interest in improvement projects and teamwork
- Good leadership and communication skills
- Agility and reliability in communication are prerequisites
- Reliability, initiative and ambition to succeed at work
- Interest in the development and structure of the Vestfjörður Health Institute
Salary
