Rannveig Björnsdóttir, a nurse, has been hired as the head of the inpatient department at the institute in Ísafjörður.
Rannveig was born in 1958. She completed her B. Sc. degree in nursing from the University of Iceland in 1983 and additional diploma in 2007 in nursing management at the same school.
She has worked in many places in the years 1983 ? In 1998, among others, in the hand medicine and children's departments of Landspítala and Borgarspítala, hospitals in Akraness and Húsavíkur, as a representative for the Icelandic Red Cross and was head of department at Fjörður Hospital in Ísafjörður 1992-1995. Since the spring of 1998, she has worked as the head of the Department of Geriatrics at the Vestfjörður Health Institute.
