At the Vestfjörður Health Institute, various measures have been taken to both prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus and prepare our response to the first infection. So far, no one in the district has been diagnosed with infection. It is too long to list all the measures and they change from day to day, but the biggest change is probably the visiting ban that came into effect yesterday. Patients, family members and the public have shown great understanding of the procedures. We are working on ways to accommodate household members and relatives, for example with video conferencing equipment, but any suggestions are welcome.
The organization has established a special board that meets at least every other day and reviews the state of affairs and actions. There is particularly good cooperation with other organizations and other responders.
