A group of clients from the Vestfjörður Health Foundation has been invited to participate in an international study of services for people seeking health care due to illness.
Part of the clients aged 45 and over who contacted a health center during a six-month period have been invited to participate in the study. Invitations to participate will be sent by e-mail to those who have a registered e-mail address at their health center, while others will receive an invitation via SMS to their mobile phone.
The purpose of the study is to examine both the facilities of health centers and the care and treatment that people receive at the centers. The research is carried out by the Institute of Health Sciences, Faculty of Health, University of Iceland. It is sponsored by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and covers 22 countries.
The Vestfjörður Health Institute encourages those who receive an invitation to participate in the study to participate and answer the questionnaire it receives. Among other things, there are questions about physical and mental health, quality of life, medications, symptoms, lifestyle, access to services and communication with healthcare.
