Influenza and/or Covid vaccinations are offered to risk groups at the Vestfjörður Health Institute
Risk groups for influenza are:
- All persons aged 60 and over
- All children born 1.1.2020-30.6.2024 who have reached six months of age when vaccinated.
- All children and adults suffering from chronic heart, lung, kidney and liver diseases, obesity, diabetes, malignant diseases and other immunosuppressive diseases.
- Pregnant women.
- ? Healthcare professionals who care for individuals in the risk groups listed above.
- People at work-related risk due to co-infection of annual influenza and avian influenza.
At the same time, vaccination against Covid-19 will be offered for those aged 60 and over, as well as those who are advised by a medical board to receive such vaccination. It is important to state in the appointment whether one or both vaccinations are requested.

It will be possible to request vaccinations at health clinics, but reservations must be made in advance.
Vaccination is free of charge for priority groups.
Vaccination for those who do not belong to these groups will be announced later.
