Change of arrangement
Due to the unmanageable shortage of nurses at the health center in Ísafjörður this summer, we have asked the Health Center Information Center - 1700 to join us with the aim of ensuring same-day service for those who contact us with urgent matters.
The experience with telephone counseling 1700 shows that with specially trained staff, a large proportion of inquiries can be resolved through telephone and online chat counseling. Nurses at 1700 will then refer those clients to HVest nurses and/or doctors who need it.
This service has been running in both North and West Iceland and has been very successful.
Wednesday, July 9th We are taking this step in collaboration with the HH Information Center and 1700.
1700 telephone advice
Clients can now call 1700 24 hours a day, and in addition, online chat is open from 8 am to 10 pm every day of the week. Urgent matters and advice regarding illness go through 1700, which puts them in the right channel within HVest healthcare.
Urgent cases will be classified via telephone 1700. Those who need further service will be given an appointment the same day with a nurse or doctor at HVest. With this, we want to maintain a good level of service and ensure the right service in the right place at the right time.
NOTE: The emergency number remains 112 and people are advised to call that number if necessary.
Please note – for the following matters, please contact the health center HVest 450-4500 directly.
- Drug renewal
- Research results
- General hours and telephone hours for doctors
- Certificates and references
To best support this change, HVest's telephone answering service will be coordinated and changed so that the answering machine will offer options for urgent matters and advice due to illness, which will put the person in touch with 1700.
