The older one had been broken for several months, and since it was old it didn&#039;t seem wise to spend a lot to fix it. The new device is from Swissray.<\/p>\n<p>The new device is powerful, but does not have all the features of the older one. A new complete device will only be purchased after a tender which takes considerably longer than could be accepted this time. That process is now underway but will not deliver a device until next year at the earliest. When that happens, the Swissray device will be moved to Patreksfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and replace the older device. There are no working radiologists on Patreksfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, so it is fortunate that there is a simple device that the radiologists of the institute on \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur have become familiar with.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The x-ray machine is purchased with money that came from a special budget item for the current year, but the exact allocation of that money was announced in a recent press release from the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n<p><img src='\/hvest\/gamlar_myndir\/l_image5cb4aa32a6c7a.jpg'><br \/><em>CEO Gylfi \u00d3lafsson and radiologist Hulda Mar\u00eda Gu\u00f0j\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir receive the device from Stef\u00e1n S. Sk\u00falasyn from Fastus, its Icelandic agent, and Martin Darms who came from Swissray to complete the installation and configuration of the device.
