He takes over the job from Kristina B. Albertsd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n<p>Gylfi is a health economist. He completed his B.Ed. degree as a primary school teacher from the University of Akureyri, M.Sc. in economics from Stockholm University and has been studying for a doctorate in health economics at Karolinska in Stockholm since 2013.<\/p>\n<p>In parallel with his doctoral studies, Gylfi has worked as a freelance consultant in health economics, taught part-time at the University of Iceland, as well as founded and ran the innovative company V\u00edur in Bolungarv\u00edk in the years 2013 \u2013 2016. Gylfi was an assistant to Benedikts J\u00f3hannesson, Minister of Finance and Economy in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Gylfi grew up on \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur from childhood. He is married to Tinna \u00d3lafsd\u00f3ttir and they have 2 children. HVEST staff welcomes Gylfa and family back to their home pastures.
