With the introduction of the room, patients can receive most of their medication at home. Sigurvon&#039;s support group, Vinir i von, led by Hei\u00f0r\u00fan Bj\u00f6rnsd\u00f3ttir, former board member of Sigurvon, and Gu\u00f0bj\u00f6rg \u00d3lafsd\u00f3ttir, board member, have over the past year worked to furnish the room and bought various interior items that the Health Foundation uses. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;Various benefactors have also helped us with the project, such as Betra bak \u00e1 \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur who gave us a good discount on furniture, S\u00e6raf who gave us a good discount on television, audio equipment and wireless hearing aids, the Comedy Theater who gave us national audio books, artist Marsibil Kristj\u00e1nsd\u00f3ttir who brought us artwork after himself and the Pj\u00f6tls who gave us tapestries. We would like to express our sincere thanks to them as well as to others who have contributed to making the room as warm and cozy as possible,&quot; says Hei\u00f0r\u00fan. <\/p>\n<p>The room has been in use for over a year, and according to Hei\u00f0r\u00fan, it is now fully furnished, so it is time to officially hand it over. &quot;The room was named Von and I even prepared a sign in the FabLab workshop that will be hung here. Four nurses who work at the hospital have learned how to give these cancer drugs, which means that most people who previously had to go south can now receive drugs at home in the district. It saves both time and money, but most importantly, it saves the people&#039;s energy because they take on, both mentally and physically, regularly traveling south to Reykjav\u00edk,&quot; says Hei\u00f0r\u00fan.
