{"id":481,"date":"2010-10-18T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-10-18T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gyl.fi\/hvest\/2010\/10\/18\/hord_motmaeli_vid_nidurskurdi\/"},"modified":"2010-10-18T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2010-10-18T00:00:00","slug":"hord_motmaeli_vid_nidurskurdi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hvest.is\/en\/hord_motmaeli_vid_nidurskurdi\/","title":{"rendered":"Fierce protests against cuts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The board of the Vestfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Division of the Icelandic Nurses&#039; Association (VF\u00cdH) strongly objects to the large and ineffective cuts to healthcare institutions announced in the 2011 budget bill. <\/p>\n<p> According to the Health Act, all citizens of the country should have equal rights and equal access to health services, which promote mental, physical and social health.<\/p>\n<p> We, the nurses of the Vestfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Department, would like to warn of the serious consequences that the planned cuts will have for the residents of the area who need the services of the Vestfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Health Institute. <br \/> The social changes that would follow as a result of the cuts announced in the health service will cause people to move out of the area.<\/p>\n<p> At the same time, it is the opinion of the nurses of the Vestfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Department that there will be no savings in the end. Therefore, all the costs involved in transporting the patient to Reykjav\u00edk or Akureyri and those chosen for their treatment in these places are not expected.
