On Thursday, September 4, the Minister of Health, Alma D. M\u00f6ller, visited the Westfjords Health Institute, accompanied by her assistant, J\u00f3n Magn\u00fas Kristj\u00e1nsson. During the visit, she met with the executive board, L\u00fa\u00f0v\u00edk \u00deorgeirsson, CEO, El\u00edsabeta Sam\u00faelsd\u00f3ttir, CFO, Erling Aspelund, Human Resources Manager, Hildur El\u00edsabeta P\u00e9tursd\u00f3ttir, Nursing Manager, and S\u00fasanna Bj\u00f6rga \u00c1stvaldsd\u00f3ttir, Medical Manager. After the meeting and breakfast, a tour of the institution in \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, the infirmary, health care, and the Eyri nursing home was conducted. There, the Minister met many staff at work. After lunch, the Minister headed to Bolungarv\u00edk to the Berg nursing home. There, the Minister met with the head of the nursing home department for the northern region, Au\u00f0ur Helga \u00d3lafsd\u00f3ttir, and other staff at Berg, as well as residents there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visits like these are fun and important in creating space for conversation with managers and staff in their jobs. We thank the Minister and his assistant for the insight and hope that they enjoyed their visit to Vestur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
