At the Vestfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Health Foundation's establishment in Patreksfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, the heart of the activity is in the southern area. All general health services are provided there for the residents of Vesturbygg\u00f0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nursing and Medical Department<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The nursing and medical department has eleven nursing rooms and two hospital rooms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The health care center in Patreksfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur provides a wide range of health care services. In addition to the services of a doctor and nurses, a midwife and other specialists from an establishment in \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur come to the healthcare facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Home care<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Vestfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Health Center and Vesturbygg\u00f0 have joined contracts<\/a> on the operation of integrated home services in the municipality. The contract is part of the project Good to grow old<\/a><\/em>, the government's action plan for older people. <\/a><\/a>The health institution is taking on the operation of home support in collaboration with the municipality. The agreement is valid until a comprehensive agreement is made between \u00cdsafjar\u00f0arb\u00e6r, Vesturbygg\u00f0, S\u00fa\u00f0arv\u00edkur district, Bolungarv\u00edkurkaupsta\u00f0ar and the Vestfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Health Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Home care and home support is provided from the health care center by the new home care team Good to grow old. Home care is applied for through a doctor at the health care center and home care through Vesturbygg\u00f0. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hospital in Patreksfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. In the part of the building on the left, which was built in the years 1944\u20136, there is a nursing ward, hospital room, kitchen and various support rooms. In the newer section built in 1976\u201382 and to the right, the nursing home residents' dining room is on the top floor. On the main floor there is health care and in the basement rehabilitation, laundry room, chapel and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bjarki Sveinsson, a self-employed physiotherapist at the institute in Patreksfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, is on duty every weekday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ambulances for the area are carried out by ambulance workers on back shifts based in the premises of the Red Cross in Vatneyri.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mutual improvements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to plan of the Ministry of Health<\/a> Regarding the development of nursing rooms, a comprehensive renovation of the hospital is planned from the fall of 2019. Vesturbygg\u00f0 plans to build facilities for social activities for senior citizens in connection with the construction, as well as several other changes to the hospital in connection with the construction. The plan was to hold an ideas competition in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n
